Good machine drummer
I like it, the sounds are plenty and with tuning , fx and processing I can get some decent sounding beats out of it and even top it with some usable bass-lines (NOT programmed via pads, thats too tuff, but played in via MIDI). It is still a plastic box, but unbeatable to the price , IMHO.

Does the job
The Alesis SR18 is a very nice "Old school" drum machine. I use it in my studio to create drum/percussion loops on the fly when working on new songs. The ability to also program bassparts is a real plus in my book. The sounds are good, but not great. But: It does what it's supposed to do at an affordable prize.
