I have been playing violin for years and used many bows including pernambuco ones of higher price range.
This amazing bow enhanced my violin's sound. The sound it draws completely changes your opinion on your violin in a positive way. It produces very warm and clear sound with a beautiful tone.
I use this bow with Thomastik Dominant strings and rosin on a hand made violin crafted by Romanian master Friderich Szasz.
Bow strokes like ricochet, staccato and spiccato became easier with this bow due to it's superb playability and incredibly responsive nature. String crossings are also quite easy. The weight suited me to perfection. The bow's material gives a high quality feeling within hand. The inscription '' A.S. Carbon '' is stamped on it with white letters. It did not come pre-rosined. The only downside for me is the crumpled nylon sheath in which this high quality bow was put. Other than that this carbon violin bow of Alfred Stingl By Höfner totally exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend this bow as an either primary or backup bow for every level of musicians since it offers more than what you can expect from a bow within this price range.
I bought this to replace the bow that came with my AS-280-V violin, and I couldn't believe the additional amount of control and improved sound I had from the first moment.
I'm a (adult) beginner with only a few months experience, and after my teacher mentioned the lower prices of carbon bows vs wooden for a generally improved sound. I thought I'd try it out. So glad that I did.
