We badly needed a DI but had not ever used one in the past as we were always short on budget and this was one I could not convince anyone about.
We used to frequently get Earth Loops and other artifacts from the couple of Keyboards used.
I finally managed to convince the In-Charge around the time I bought a snake from Thomann to also buy a DI as a "trial"
as cost was a BIG concern for a "Trial", I chose the lowest cost Dual channel DI I could find with good reviews.
Result:-
-----------
"Wow!.. where did that Brrr....rrrr...rrrr.. go?....."
We are having a far more peaceful worship now!!.
pros:-
---------
*Does its job with no discernable audio quality loss
*Not a Barebone DI-Has extra buttons to reduce the volume if required even furthur before sending and also a Filter - But in general I just I hardly use them
*Has taken some rough stage handling, drops and abuse without a complaint - not something you would attribute to
this small unit from the reviews and pics.
Cons:-
---------
*The Lettering is Purple against a black background and is hard to see on stage - takes some effort.
*The buttons can certainly do with a stronger spring.
- Other than that It is a Brilliant product for the price
I am comparing with the dualxdirect that I have purchase. Performance-wise, this di serve it's purpose as a passive D.I. However, it is signal attenuation efficiency is not as good as the dualxdirect. =)
I have this unit for DI'ing stero sources such as keys or Dj line outs into my console.
It is the perfect addition without breaking the bank. It is "silent" and doesn't colour the sound. It sits in my cable box and is regularly used, but as yet I have not had any problems.
Great work ART!
I bought this together with the single, passive Zdirect unit.
So far it has worked just fine, it is a double, compact passive DI for your low impedance sources, which make it a small yet convenient, easy to use DI. It is also much versatile because of ground lift, invert phase and double signal pad switches for BOTH of the two DIs of the unit
Nice durability, it's really well built and can take a hit or five. I've been using a couple of theese out on several tours and they are still going strong.
I've been using them mostly with Keyboards and backtracks, it doesn't color the sound, but might take a few Hz off at the top (but hey it's passive) but nothing that's bothering me.
I bought this mostly for studio use, and so far it's worked perfectly. I've also used it live a handful of times for DIing semi-acoustic instruments without any problems. It's compact, seems sturdy, and has two channels. I haven't noticed it affect audio quality one way or the other, there's not much more to say. Does the job.
Great little box although the writing can be hard to read on stage under certain lighting conditions but that said a great little direct box with great functionality. I use this when not going stereo L \R into house PA. to save on mic inserts on our desk but sometimes use but channels on the box to get L/R mix of my keys..
Again great little DI box and well worth the money
I bought this for a church looking for two di inputs. It works the same as all the others, but with the bonus of two channels, meaning less clutter. Great for running a keyboard and a guitar. I have used the single input version of the same box for the last 5 or so years without issue. Just maybe use different coloured leads so you know which person is on which channel.
