A fine budget bass guitar.
The setup of the bass from the factory (out of the box) had a too low action as all strings did buzz (strings parallel to the fingerboard all the way). I had to ease the truss rod a bit and raise all of the saddles in the bridge (and then adjust the intonation accordingly). After adjustments the string heights are fine (not too high and no buzzing) and the bass is fine to play.
The sound is very polite, warm, and tight with a bias on the middle range. You can adjust to most common soundscapes, but it isn't aggressive as with EMG pickups. Compared to a Fender Jazz bass it may sound a bit flat.
Construction with a neck through is perfect for sustain and the Hipshot hardware works perfectly. The overall construction - including weight -leans towards the feeling of the Ibanez SR series.
Looking at the price tag, you get a lot compared to other brands. It's sort of a working horse, not a prestige brand and not a boutique bass, but it will get the job done in most situations. It will work fine for professionals and semi-professionals and it is a very good bass for the beginners.
