I bought these strings because I wanted to try arco-specific light-gauge strings, at a reasonable price.
In terms of playabality I really love it, they work great for my bass. They respond easily and have a stable and clear tone in all four strings. I usually played standard Evah Pirazzi strings, who are bit higher priced, but in terms of sound a bit brighter and deeper (again, on my bass). My last experience with the durability of the Pirazzi strings however, was that the sound quality really degraded after something less then a year. Which is, to be fair, quite a (too) long period. As opposed to the Daddario Kaplan, who are still lasting (but will be replaced soon, probably by Evah Pirazzi orc. light).
I can't really recommend playing pizzicato (jazz) with the Kaplan strings, the sound is rather dull (personal taste).
Concluding: great strings for a good price, they last long and are certainly loud enough for most settings. Very good for arco and playability, but for pizzicato I would prefer another type of string.
