The infamous B3K that put darkglass on the map, now with more control of the highs and less of the lows.
It has the unmistakable high-gain fizz and sizzle of darkglass and 90% of all modern bass sound clips. The clean blend is actually the best feature, since it doesn't sound weak at low settings- even low amounts of blended distortion is useable.
While the pedal sounds great for what it does, the actual tone-shaping controls are not impressing me. The new 'grunt' switch adds way, way too much depth and I keep it off. The 'mid boost' button for boosting the mids doesn't sound great to me either. And the 'tone' knob is tilted way too high- turning the know full counterclockwise is already trebly enough, anything over 9'o clock is unuseable to me.
I really have tried to use this pedal on my recordings but I always end up using the same settings- blend at about 25-30%, tone all the way down, no boosts.
I own the SuperSymmetry as well, and between the two I can say the the build quality is top notch, you won't break a darkglass pedal unless you try, so there's that. But I don't think the sound is for me. I expected a lot more versatility from this pedal for sure!
