No getting away from it, the string angles between nut and tuners on a Les Paul are not optimised for tuning stability. I've had days when the f**ker just won't stay in tune. This device fixes the issue at a stroke. The V1 is the one you need for a Les Paul with Kluson type tuners (push in ferrules, no nuts). Simply replace your truss rod cover with this device. It takes 5 minutes to fit but potentially will fix years of 'out of tune' frustration. I'm lucky enough to have 3 Gibson's, they're all now fitted with String Butlers, just wished I'd known about them years ago.
Yes, it does straighten the strings through nut and improves tuning stability. The V1 is the simplest SB version to fit, really easy. Only issue was the long top screw slot didn't go down low enough, so had to drill new screw hole in my Les Paul (Tokai LS136 Japan).
