I do like this pedal. I'm still trying to figure out a balance between the spring etc that suits me. It is a very meaty pedal! Much better than the 9000, that one feels strange and big but this one is a perfect in between. One this I would say about it is that the bass drum beater isn't my favourite. I found it to be too top heavy which does feel nice to play. So if you like a smooth super quick response then I'd be prepared to be buying your own bass drum beater that you prefer.
It has a rubber on the underneath of the foot board which is awesome. I don't usually like using the spurs on a pedal so this makes up for them even though if does have spurs too. It's DW!! So very industry standard and you know it's going to be reliable and back you up all the way
I must say the DW 5000AD4 pedal is a design classic.
I have been using DW pedals for over 30 years and my motto is ''simplicity is best ''.
The DW 5000 AD4 works brilliantly with a fantastic smooth action and the additional new design pivot system on the drive chain anchor point is a brilliant piece of innovation.
There are more expensive and probably quicker action pedals on the market, but if want a design classic, virtually unbreakable pedal at an amazing price then the DW 5000 AD4 is unbeatable.
