Coming from a cheap envelope filter (intended for guitar) this is on a whole different level. It has all the options and it sounds absolutely perfect. Put an octave pedal in front of it and a gentle overdrive behind it and you've got yourself an awesome synth-y bass sound. Replace the overdrive with a growly, dirty distortion and now you can play dubstep! It preserves the low-end frequencies really well where other envelope filters tend to either more or less kill them or muddy them up.
Being able to adjust the attack length gives a lot of flexibility on top of the other settings, and if that isn't enough, then you can open the pedal up and adjust the internal settings (described in the accompanying manual).
Only less-than-ideal thing about it is that it defaults to 'on', which is kind of annoying and the only thing that deducts a point from this otherwise flawless pedal.
But yeah, definitely worth the price, even for a hobbyist like myself.
