Ok, I need to say something, I have many high gain amps, Mesa Boogie Dual and Single Rectifiers, Peavey Invective 120, Peavey 6505, Peavey 5150 and many more, and this small amp is the loudest of them all, I mean keeping all characteristics of your tone and gain that you set, it can go all the way up with it to blow your rehearsal windows out no problem. No such thing in Mesa amps (they loose that character and gain when you increase the volume), no such thing in Peavey amps (they tends to clog a lot) and many different problems with other amps (this is a river of a topic).
Not here, Evh 5150 III 50 W is just so stable, this is a different modern technology that you definitely want to have. A crucial addition to your collection or if you must own one amp only - choose this one. Cleans are crystal clear Fender like, ODs has so much different tones that you will find your one for sure, and RED channel is just infinity of gain and good tones, no tube screamers needed, a golden mine of gain.
If you play in a loud band, then I would recommend using two noise gates to get it perfect pro. The only bad thing about this amp is that it doesn't have build in any type of noise gate. One for your guitar line in to cut feedback, and second for effects loop for preamp humm cut. I use only ISP Deci-Mate noise gates (checked a lot different ones and would recommend only ISP). In this amp unfortunately using only one noise gate on the loop does not solve both (guitar pickups feedback and preamp noise) problems for some reason, how it works for example in Mesa or Peavey amps, but lets say it is just a touch up.
