Woaw!
I recently bought this guitar with my hard-earned cash and I gotta say that I wouldn't like to have spent it in a different way! This guitar rocks. Totally. I use it for my shoegaze band, and it functions really well, even with the p90-like pickups that are installed into this beast. It feels good to play. When used, the tremolo arm replicates the sound that Kevin Shields made on his own jazzmaster. Quality wise I can comfortably say that the Indian laurel fretboard is not dry like on the other Squier Jazzmasters. The fretboard feels soft and with quality in mind. It’s a good alternative to rosewood.
I do, however, have a small, raised finger of criticism. When this guitar arrived, the pickups were very weirdly screwed into the body. This was, however, fixed in like five minutes with a screwdriver. Additionally, I have experienced a lot of fret buzz with this thing on the low E-string. Luckily, the bridge is very easy to adjust, so the fret buzzing has been fixed as well, though it probably needs a proper setup... But that's just how it is when you buy a guitar. It's like buying a car, it sometimes needs to go to a technician if you can't fix it yourself.
But even with this in mind as an experience, it hasn’t hurt my overall joy with playing this instrument. If you are into shoegaze, do yourself a favor and get this guitar. I seriously mean it, because you can save a few bucks by buying this and then spend the rest on pedals instead of buying some of the other super expensive Jazzmasters that Fender puts out.
