Harley Benton Electric Guitar Kit Single Cut

Kunne det lade sig gøre at bygge en Les Paul-type guitar selv?, Ja, med Harley Bentons hjælp.
Jeg mangler en Humbucker-type guitar mere til mine hjemmeindspilninger og efter at have prøvet HB's byggesæt med Jazz bas og Telecaster-type guitar, var det nu tid at prøve en Single Cut type.
Som sædvanlig utrolig flot træ og behageligt gribebrædt. Den er lidt sværere at samle fordi der ikke er markeringer på alle stikkene, så man må prøve sig lidt frem. Den lyder faktisk Les Paul-agtig og er god at spille på. Find manualen på Thomann's hjemmeside, der er den i farver og ikke kun sort/hvid som den udprintede man får med. Det giver lidt flere hints om ledningerne og stikkene.
Stemmeskruerne manglede i samlesættet, men blev straks eftersendt fra Thomann. Desværre havde der været et kommunikationsproblem mellem os, så jeg fik mekanikker til en Tele i stedet for 3 højre og 3 venstre. Det er min egen skyld at jeg ikke har fået dem byttet. Jeg var simpelthen så spændt på, hvordan den var at spille på, så jeg bare monterede de forkerte og det virker nu. Min plan er at opgradere guitaren på et tidspunkt med Gibson pu'er og gold hardware, så jeg skal have nye mekanikker alligevel.

I bought this guitar learn more about guitars. First I thought that I would get a really cheap guitar but I was surprised to learn that it is a really god guitar. The only problem I've have had was that the holes in the neck was drilled to big. But Thomann gave me a refund so I could by thigger and longer screws, and they works fine.
I adjusted the truss rod, but I guess everybody adjust the neck, bridge and sadle to get the feel and sound that we like.
The balance of the guitar is really good.

The woodwork is great, everything fits really tight, and thats a god thing.
The neck is slim, a great feature for me but it will might be a problem for players with big hands.
I left the body unpainted because it's very nice and I like the look of the raw wood.

The electronics seems and sounds really well.
The only thing I've changed is the pickups to open coil, and it's because that I've never liked the sound of the metal covered pickups. And I have tried a few over the years.

Of all parts for this guitar, the tuners are the only thing that I will need to change. They are a little loose and hard to trim. So spend a little money there and be happy instead of annoyed.

Overall a super guitar even though the prize is low.
I play it all the time, and spend a little money on black pickup farmes and a black plate for the pickup switch. And with transparrent speed knobs it looks like a dream.
And one last thing, buy clicklocks. You don't want to drop your one of a kind guitar.

Harley Benton! Keep up the good work. But look out for misses like the neck holes.

We used this kit for an examproject, where we build a guitar. Because of a limited budget and timeframe, we only buld the body, and thus we used all the electronics, neck, bridge and other accesories from this kit. For the price the quality is spot on - as is usually the case with Harley Benton - and it was really easy to use. The only downside I would say, is that it might be a little too easy. All the holes are predrilled, and no soldering is required for the electronics. So all you need to do is paint, and put in the screws.
All in all a great kit for the money!

I bought This set Well knowing it was cheap and I did not expect much
But a couple of things i Want to note
1. All the hardware and plastic parts was stuck In the same plastic bag not a smart choice since plastic and metal dont get a long that Well.
2. The fingerboard is extremly dry so dry it is looking White some places.
3. Some dents In the Wood on the Body making it really bad looking if you just put on a lacquer (so far I have sanded it With 600 5 times and it is not Down to where iI Can say that the dents is gone)
4. Too much pore filler if you Want to stain the guitar you really need to sand it Down Many times so far as i wrote i have Been Sanding it 5 times and I am still not done With the 600 sand paper
My plan is to stain it, or if I cant Remove the dents it is going to get a paintbrush and a clear layer after that Hoping that Will do the trick (have to full the dents With some Wood filler first.)
Hardware is not being used I change everything into Black hardware and brushed stainless Steel pickups.
(Sound is given a 3 Star rating but i have not and Will not be using the standard hardware)
