Klark Teknik Mic Booster CT1

I am seriously struggling to both fit and remove it from the XLR cables. It is super tight and the small thump clamp doesn't release it. Even so the booster sits badly connected, so it moves during recording with a clonking sound as it tilts from one side to the other. Both too loose and too tight at the same time - seems ridicolously impossible?
Maybe someone can find a hack but to me it seems silly - XLR is a really good connection system, there shouldn't be any issues.

very handy device, fits easily on the mike and it simply does the job without any problems
