Manfrotto 014-38 Rapidadapter

This is one of those vitally useful gadgets that when you ask for them people just roll their eyes and and deny all knowledge. But if you use photographic light stands fitted with 5/8 spigots then this little casting lets you fit any thing you like, reflectors, diffusers and of course the huge range of led and halogen lights that do not have this fitting. It seems well made and I am glad at last I found them.

In a good way, It’s a lot heavier than what you’d expect, that provides me comfort in knowing that it can hold whatever I need, specially with a 3/8 which is a tank of a screw.
I’ve people come up with creative solutions but this is the standard and maybe most practical quick realease.
Also the 3/8 screw is perfectly machined so I never worry about screwing or fitting this to other valuable equipment.

Be careful: the screw will scratch the bar where you attach it. The internal screw should come with a rubber tip, or something for protection.
