I bought this as a replacement to my 18" Meinl Byzance Dual/Dry Crash that broke. I had previous experience with this crash from drumming in church and it was great. This cymbal is definitely brighter and has a more pronounced pitch due to the added thickness, but it's very lush and records well. I only miss having the increased wash and slight dryness from my Byzance crash, but for the price range of this crash, it's impossible to argue over the quality and the sound.

Have used this cymbal for a bit over a month now. Overall its Good cymbal for its price. Not too loud, but can be loud too. I would suggest this for recording, anykind music really. Doesn't really cut through 2 guitars and bass in heavier music.
