Meinl SH8BK Shaker

This shaker has a great sound and can be used for small or large venues* (*with a mic). Holding it tight will have a more controlled sound. Holding it with just the fingers only make it have an open/bright sound. It is also a very good shaker for situations where no mics are present (small venues/unplugged).

a well priced, crisp shaker. feels good. sounds great. have used this in the studio and live most weeks since i bought it last year. never disappoints. doesn't get buried in the track but really cuts through. meinl really do make some wonderful gear at ofter well below their competitors prices.

Been using this for a while now to fill some quite parts of my band's songs.
Quite impressed with the loudness and clearness of the sound of this octagon shaker. Been using some egg shakers before buying this and I needed two or three of those to achieve a good volume. This octagon shaker is loud while retaining a nice round and crispy, high quality sound.
Moreover I find it very easy to handle. Easy to add some versatility in your playing, and adjust the loudness and tone.
