As i wrote in my review of TLM 103. If you are serious and want to do something with your music, and release it. Then this is the lowest you can get. Dont buy cheaper og cheap mic´s. Simply a waste of money. Even many that cost even more than this have same problem.
Inherent self noise (look it up!) is something that caught me a little of guard. It´s an issue that ALL have at this price range or lower. In general a lot of small condenser mic´s have this issue. THIS ONE is the only one that have 16 DB self noise, ALL others have above. (Audio Technica AT 2031 have 17 DB, if your on a tight budget). In general go for Senheisser, Neuman, or Audio Technica in your search for low self noise.
This one have 16 DB self Noise. Which is A LOT! Do not ever go higher than 16 DB. Or you will get same problems i have had. a lot of noise in your mixes. 14-16DB is acceptable/okay/good. But i´d say 13DB or lower is the perfect mic, and is my standard.
About the quality of the sound, it does sound great for this price, and are very clean and natural sounding. It is for sure worth every penny!
