Sennheiser XSW 2-835 A-Band Vocal Set

I've often used cable-less or 'Funk' microphones at bigger events when sound and technical support provide it, but as a lead vocalist I was getting pretty fed up using a cable microphone at smaller venues. So, after some research I took the decision to invest in a XSW 2 set. Used it for the first club live show last weekend. Absolutely brilliant. No drop outs, perfect clarity. Just a short discussion with the sound guy beforehand and we got a great set up. I should have done it years ago. I noted the comments about the handset sensitivity and would confirm them, but I use the 'mute' switch when removing from the stand or when I move offstage. It is instant and easy to use avoiding any feedback or handling noise. I think the pictogram instructions could be better. I had to go to YT and find an operational review online which helped the set-up process as IMO the instructions really don't provide enough information. So first impressions are very goodand I look forward to using the system many more timesin the future.

I have used a number of sennheiser products from high end to these and whenever I am doing an installation or buying for myself if any wireless equipment is involved I go straight to Sennheiser. If budget is an issue for some people these microphones are the best in this price range. The quality of the sound, the quality of the wireless signal, everything is beyond anything else on the market. I have had XS wireless stuff up against trantec models of around the same price range when there was a raging storm outside the venue and while the trantec's were virtually unusable the sennheisers had no issues what-so-ever! At this rate I don't think im going to go anywhere else other than Sennheiser for my wireless equipment.
