Incredible guitar for the price - set it up properly!!!

A fantastic instrument that took a short setup to really shine. The construction is immaculate. It took several rounds of cleaning over the fretboard and polishing to get it going, but that is the minimum I'd recommend on any setup.

Although passive, the pickups come pretty hot - please ensure you're checking the input gain appropriately on any amp or DI you might be using.

Monster heavy tone, warm and wide cleans.

This isn't a recent purchase. I've had this beauty for about four or five years now. I'd have to say, it's grown on me. I've learned to live with its shortcomings.

I'll start with it's irritating points first. The main issue for me, and still is, is the pickup selector switch. It's needed cleaning and maintenance since day one. Yes I know it should be an easy fix, but... My second irritation are the tuners. To begin with I thought they were too close together. I'm used to them now though. That's the negatives out of the way, now for the positives. This guitar sounds as awesome as it looks. I've read all the negative reviews about the pickups, but I have no issues at all with the Solar Duncans at all, even the split-coil sound is a very usable addition... when the pickup selector allows it.

I would definitely buy this again. Although, being left handed, I'd love to be able to buy any guitar l wanted in any colour.
Overall... Awesome guitar & always awesome service from Thomann.
