First impressions, beautifully made by Hora - Romania, constructed from rich light maple,- beautifully crafted and very well put together. Lovely smooth feel against the lips as the top edges are softly rounded, I am new to the pan pipes having started with a small 12 pipe set. The Solist Bass Pan pipes are much easier to play when you get used to the size. Still getting used to the spacing between the notes but once mastered will enjoy playing these as the octaves covered are excellent. Adjusting the breath between the low pipes to the high notes is taking a bit of work to be able to get a consistent note but the mellow sound is excellent and with practice it can only get better. Purchased for personal pleasure but in time would hope to play to entertain others.
