Very superflous and simple introduction to guitar play. It touches a little on how to hold and play chords, has a whole page about changing guitar strings, how to use a pick, and goes fairly in depth on how to read piano sheet (yes, piano), which is a bit strange.

It has piano sheet, guitar chords plus lyrics for about 20 simple songs such as "He's Got the Whole World", "My Bonnie Is Over The Ocean" and "House Of The Rising Sun", and at the end, two pages with chord charts for many basic chords and also more advanced.

20 years ago I'd say this was worth it, but today you're much better off just looking on websites and Youtube for introductions. A 10-minute Youtube video would give more information. I also found it very confusing that the book was supposedly about guitar play, but put so much focus on piano sheet.
