As I found out when screwing it on my late 80's Tama black label Japan stand.
It's so cheap, I thought: "let's try".
It fitted to my surprise, and the length is just right for my setup.
I'm experimenting with goodies around the set a lot during these home isolation days, and that includes clamping things on the hi-hat pole.
But sometimes a shorter pole is better for playability with other experiments, like clamping things between the hi-hat and tom 1.
It also gives another look. A little cleaner. But that's personal.
This was bought to replace a long hi hat rod that came with my Tama Iron Cobra hi hat stand. This is a very handy bit of kit as you can bring cymbals in closer without them hitting the top of a long rod. Also it now fits in my hardware case without having to completely dismantle the stand - This was a huge bonus for me. The rod is strong, stable and very easy to fit. It doesn't come loose during playing as well. Highly recommended for anyone looking to make things more simple with their setup. There are no cons with this item, only pros! 5 stars in all areas, even to Thomann for their great packing and quick dispatch.
I inherited a used Tama hi hat stand, but with a broken hi hat rod. this was a perfect replacement, with just enough adjustability (height wise) for my comfort levels, and now does not get in the way of other stands if have put closer to the hi hat (ei music stand/ main crash)
Purchased to replace the original rod in my Iron Cobra Hi hat stand. I’m a tall chap and play with the hats at a slightly higher position than normal but not Travis Barker style. This is perfect with about 1.5 cm showing above the clutch. It’s super neat on stage and allows better positioning of my high tom, splash and smaller crash. Recommended.
I bought this rod because I was annoyed by the extra length and tendency to bend of my previous hi-hat rod. I've mounted it on my vintage (1990s) yamaha gear and it fits great.
No more extra sticking nor banding now.
Tama hw quality.
I bought it to make my hi-hat stand look stylish. When I started using it, I was shocked. I have no complaints, and it also prevents my hi-hat clutch from disassembling.
I always find that the normal length of the h-hat Rod is too long and gets in the way. I have my hats quite high and this rod is still long enough but with out having another 6" of unused metal sticking up!!
Perfect for the yamaha hihat stand that comes with the gigmaker

I got a yamaha gigmaker as a gift but most of the hardware was missing in the box including the hi hat rod of the hi hat stand that comes with the drum kit. I bought this hi hat rod after reading many good reviews. Its not too long compared to the usual hi hot rods. Its very stable and looks very well made. I cannot think of any cons for this hi hat rod. It easy to install and just perfect for my yamaha hihat stand.
