Trident Audio 80B-500 EQ

This eq (new take on an old classic) is not intended to be used for drastic corrections, sharp notches and surgical work. It is very musical (think about wide mid curves) and you can significantly boost without sounding harsh. In my case I can not achieve the same smooth boosts with a digital eq, especially when pushed.
Every move feels smooth and clean with a touch of coloration. There are definitely more musical choices, but you cannot go wrong considering its price. I would recommend it for general instrument/voice tone shaping.

I would describe the sound of this EQ as somewhat hard, but not too much and in a pleasant way. The lack of Q control is of course a limitation, but you pick this EQ for the sound, more than for the features. I find such EQs better suited for creation than correction.

The build quality seems good.
