Babicz FCH 3-Point 4 String Bass C

Dette er en virkelig high mass bridge med montering direkte på bassens krop.
Fordele; resonnansen kommer direkte igennem og giver en meget bedre lyd og klanglængde.
Hver streng kan justeres individuelt både i højde og intonering, hvilket kunne være ret tricky med den originale bridge med kun 3 skruer og gevind, der helst skulle være lange nok hvis man skulle hæve strengene.
Den ser jo bragende godt ud.
Problemer; Enten har katten løbet med målene på skruehullerne hos Babicz eller hos Epiphone. Der skulle mases en del før bridgen kom helt på plads.

I purchased the Babicz Full Contact bridge for my Gibson SG bass as a direct replacement. It fitted perfectly. However, when restringing the guitar the bridge started lift up as the tautness of the strings tilted the bridge. This was due to the change in leverage made by the extended length of the bridge beyond the anchor points fixed in the guitar body. These original brass inserts were a friction fit and in my Bass they were not really a tight fit. However, I took the guitar to my local luthier, which just happens to be my brother. After some thought and discussing over coffee, we decided to epoxy resin the brass inserts back into the guitar body. After 24 hours we refitted the Babicz bridge and restrung the Bass with new strings and Hey Presto, one Thunderous Bass was born.
The moral of the story is to ensure all modifications are carried out by a Professional luthier.

I got this for my 2021 non reverse Gibson Thunderbird to replace the stock bridge. To solve the issue of the bridge falling off during maintenance and I had tape over the bridge to keep the saddles in place in case of a strong breaking.
Now all of that is solved and my mind might be playing tricks on me but I feel like I got better sustain now aswell.
It fit like a glove and I'm using it without the shim, and I was fortunate enough that the intonation/height were spot on. I could have lowered it slightly but I mostly use a pick so for me out of the box perfection.
