DiMarzio DP190 BK

Clear and twangy sounding humbucker, exactly what I was hoping for. The Air Classic is not a warm muffled sounding humbucker, and has more life to it both clean and with distortion compared to a classic/PAF/Burstbucket neck humbucker, which often tend to sound muffled and thick. The Air Classic excels in clean and 70s blues/rock, and with the right eq a Les Paul can easily sound twangy like a strat. I paired it with DiMarzio high output bridge pickup without any problems/volume drop.

Commandé pour upgrader une vieille Lag Rockstar avenue BSH, j'ai monté ce micro en position manche, associé avec un autre Dimarzio, le DP 182 (fast Track 2). L'idée étant d'associer un micro plutôt "metal" à gros niveau de sortie en chevalet avec un humbucker plus calme en position manche. Premier constat, malgré la différence de niveau de sortie, on pourrait craindre un gros déséquilibre, il n'en est rien ! Pas de soucis à ce niveau.
J'ai monté ce micro de manière à pouvoir être splitté. On constate par contre une importante perte de volume en mode simple, ce qui peut déranger, cependant le son reste très bon pour moi.
Le micro possède une très bonne dynamique, en étant également capable de restituer de la grosse distortion. (Je joue sur Mesa-Boogie Road King 4 canaux sans pédale de distortion).
J'ai cablé ces 2 micros à la manière d'une télécaster, en plus des split, ce qui me donne 6 sons différents, tous exploitables. (Hormis le problème de la perte de volume, principalement en son clair, qui peut déranger). Ce micro me convient tout à fait, magnifique son clean expressif et nuancé, capable de bonne disto, le tout dans un esprit Ibanez JEM evo ou flo.

Klingt wirklich eher luftig und fast 3D mässig, schönes volles rundes sustain.Singende Leads und auch klare Rhythm parts - alles möglich.
Als Neck PU sehr gut. wurde in eine 95er PRS eingebaut. Zusammen mit dem HFS bridge PU variable Bestückung (wird nur als Humbucker eingesetzt). Ist allerdings ein Tick lauter als der HFS. Generell sind mir die PRS Neck PU?s alle ein wenig zu Metal mässig und schnell schwammig, ist aber Geschmacksache. PU Output vom air classic ist eher gering was natürlich alten vintage effekten eher entgegenkommt, wenn diese nicht so heiss angeblasen werden.
Fazit: Kann, je nach Amp, grosses genre abdecken (blues/pop/rock/fusion etc.) Günstiger Preis.
