- Inspired by the ‘Gore – Booth’ cello by Antonio Stradivari from 1710
- Top made of typically Italian split hazel spruce from the Val di Fiemme, air-dried
- Back made of flamed Bosnian sycamore, air-dried and always joined from two pieces
- Sides and neck made from the same wood as the back
- Fingerboard made from the finest grade ebony with C-edge
- Bridge Aubert De Luxe Belgian model
- Rosewood pegs
- Tailpiece: Weidler Akustikus with fine tuners
- Bender carbon endpin
- Strings: Spirocore Wolfram III & IV, Larsen Soloist II &I
- The instrument is varnished in the same way as in the 17th century by the great Cremonese masters
- Wood primer based on casein and calcium
- Lacquer finish with an amber/linseed oil lacquer prepared by Edgar Russ himself, which is coloured with pigments to give the instrument a true-to-original lacquer appearance
