EMG DG20 BK/WH

Min Fender Classic Player ‘60 Strat har en super lækker hals at spille på, men de Custom ‘69 pickups, den var født med, fungerede ikke rigtigt for mig, så efter lang research valgte jeg EMG DG20 sættet, dels for lyden og dels for at blive fri for støj. Og jeg er ikke blevet skuffet. Installationen tog en halv time, super nemt. Der skulle lige lidt tilvænning til i forhold til at skulle justere EXG og SPC boostere frem for tonekontroller, som jeg har været vant til. Det er super nemt at finde den gode lyd med disse EMG’er. Jeg er virkelig tilfreds og synes min lyd har fået et step op ad.

I installed this on my Strat and I absolutely love it.
The pickups themselves sound great (EXG and SPC off).
Very big and open and clear with great definition and dynamics.
They have a great midrange character, they do not sound thin at all.
You get a very balanced tone between all 5 pickup selector positions.
They're also super quiet, no hum or buzz whatsoever.
They have a good output level, unlike traditional single coils which can be quite weak.

Turn the EXG knob up a little and you get a more scooped and sparkly sound (maybe more like a vintage style single coil but with more weight).
Turn it all the way up and you get a huge bass boost that can drive your amp into fuzz territory, while the high end boost still retains note and string clarity and definition.

The SPC knob works great as a broad mid boost that can be used as a boost for solos and lead playing, or as a way to get a fat humbucker-like tone for distortion tones while still keeping all the Strat character and clarity.

The EXG and SPC also interact well with each other, and can give you many different tone options.

The build quality feels great, especially the pickup selector switch.
Installation was very easy.
The only issue was the pots were installed on top of the protective plastic layer of the pickguard so it didn't peel off nicely, there are still some plastic bits stuck under the pots.

Overall an amazing package that has everything you need already pre-installed!
