Gretsch Drums Catalina Club Studio Crimson

I have been blown away by how well made and finished the Catalina Club (Gloss Crimson Burst) is. The sound is warm and vintage and competes with drums at significantly higher price points. It is receiving praise from experienced drumming friends.

The only negative was a small wood chip inside the bass drum but thankfully this was just off the bearing edge so will no affect the seating of the heads or sound. I have just filled it with wood filler and a very light sanding for aesthetic reasons more than anything else.

After 3 years of playing a E-Kit this is my first ever acoustic set and I am in love! I use it for personal recording practice (and hopefully gigging).

Je commence avec la couleur, elle est juste WOW;
Le relief du bois, on voit les veines puis le degradé noir vers rouge! Un superbe rouge!
Alors le son: OMG
Pour le prix d'une entrée de gamme; elle sonne vraiment comme une grande! Le technicien expérimenté et difficile dira qu'elle sonne moyen de gamme mais ça se rapproche du pro!

En studio j'ai été bluffé par le son que j'ai obtenu d'elle; le top c'est la grosse caisse: cette petite grosse caisse de 20" à un grave son sans trou, que dis-je: impressionnant! Je viens de faire un trou et j'ai rajouté un kickport, elle sonne différemment; moins "BOOM" mais plus "VOUM"... on s'y fait, finalement c'est toujours bien voir mieux! C'est plus pratique pour les ingé son et ça fait la différence en studio niveau volume (mieux avec trou+kickport pour garder le low FHZ) Après si vous voulez faire du metal avec un son sec, allez chez Mapex ou Tama !

Son point faible c'est la snare drum, utilisé là avec une lampe à l?intérieur pour décorer, effet garanti!

Le floor tom et le tom alto à une sonorité plus orienté jazz/old school mais j'aime beaucoup! Le son légendaire typique de Gretsch pour les petits portefeuilles; SON jazzy-poppy un poil vintage et aussi très bien en rockeuse... SISI!

BREF; elle est vraiment versatile, c'est un coup de coeur,
large palette de tunning etc/ Ma fière batterie les gars!

Hankin tämän setin treenisetiksi kotioloihin. Setti on todella hieno ja näyttävän näköinen. Erittäin laadukas pinnoitus sekä lakka. Näyttää varmasti makealta stage valaistuksessa. Setti soi ihan hyvin hiljaisemmallakin soittotyylillä. Remon laatukalvot kuuluivat pakettiin, ja virittäminen oli todella helppoa. Metalliosat vaikuttivat myös laadukkailta. Lähetys oli pakattu hämmmästyttävän pieneen tilaan, yhteensä kaksi pahvilaatikkoa. Ainut mitä joutui tekemään setille, oli reikä bassorummun kalvoon, jotta bassorummun pedaalin nuija rauhoittui. Mutta bassorummun soundi oli loppupeleissä yllättävän tymäkkä. Virvelin soundi on ihan ok, mutta vireessä saisi pysyä paremmin.
Kaiken kaikkiaan hyvä ja edullinen ostos jota voin suositella lämpimästi kaikille aloitteleville ja miksei jopa ihan pro tason rumpaleillekkin.
