Harley Benton Extreme-84 Progressive Series

When i received this guitar the first time, the head was broken off, but was surprisingly fast replaced with at new one. The guitar has an enormous amount of output, and you can pretty easily create some sweet feedback, although that can also be one of the guitars downside, if crank the PA up and put some distortion on it, i WILL feedback if you do not lay your hand on the strings. That being said it's a metal machine and it really works over something like Metallica, Anthrax any of the thrash bands really.

When the guitar arrived and i unboxed it, i noticed bits and chunks of the nut all over the guitar and i noticed the nut was like kinda rushed when someone tries to filed it. There are some minor inperfection here and there but what could you expect from this price point.

Pro
1.Looks good
2.Good high gain sounding pup
3.Neck feels nice, no sharp edges
4.Its quite light and thin (for me)


Cons
1.The fretbar is a little too rough (bending feels very rough)
2.The fretboard is little dirty and dry (probably normal)
3. Very minor paint issue on both tailpiece and the bridge
4.The tailpiece have a little metal sticking out that is pointy and sharp
5.The pickup are...too distorted
6.The nut was filed down in rushed manner
7. It got neck dive...

Despite the cons of this guitar i still recommend it TO PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO FIX SOME OF THESE CONS definitely not a beginner guitar IMO, personally some of these cons can be easily fix anyway.

the guitar is made of very high quality
active pickups show itself is very good and clean channel and the Overdrive
good form but it has its drawbacks
horn causes inconvenience in the game at the lower frets
glued the neck behaves well
I can note one more minus
the port for jack is quickly loosened

I recently purchased a Harley Benton Explorer-style guitar and overall I’m genuinely impressed with the value for money.
First of all, the packaging was excellent – double boxed with a lot of protective material. The guitar arrived in perfect cosmetic condition with no scratches or damage at all. The included gig bag is also surprisingly high quality and thick, which is a big plus.

Playability and feel are very good out of the box. The neck feels comfortable (even though it is very thick). Аnd the overall construction is solid. However, factory strings for me were absolute garbage. After replacing, the guitar really came to life. The stock active HBZ pickups sound clear, articulate, and surprisingly “hi-fi”, especially on clean tones.

However, there is one major issue that should not be present on a new instrument:
the bridge grounding was not working properly.
There was significant noise on high gain, and touching the strings did not reduce the buzz. After opening the guitar and diagnosing the issue, I found that the bridge was not properly grounded due to poor electrical contact (likely caused by the coating/finish on the hardware).
I had to manually fix the problem by ensuring proper metal-to-metal contact. After that, the grounding works correctly and the noise is gone.
This is a relatively small fix, but for a new guitar, it is still disappointing and should be addressed in quality control.
