Hercules DJ Control Inpulse 200 MK3

I honestly think this is one of the best ways to start exploring the world of DJing without spending a fortune.

The Hercules DJControl Inpulse 200 MK3 really surprised me. For a relatively affordable controller, it offers an impressive range of features and gives you a genuine introduction to what DJing is all about. The dual-deck layout, jog wheels, performance pads, EQ controls and filters make the whole experience feel much more engaging than simply playing around with music on a computer.

What I particularly appreciate is how beginner-friendly it is. You don’t need to have any previous DJ experience to get started. The layout is intuitive, the controls are easy to understand, and the included DJ software makes learning the basics much less intimidating. At the same time, it doesn’t feel like a toy. There is plenty to explore as you gradually improve your skills, experiment with transitions, play with effects and develop your own mixing style.

One of the most enjoyable things is being able to take two completely different tracks and experiment with blending them together. You start by learning simple transitions, but before you know it, you’re exploring EQ adjustments, filters, tempo matching and creative mixing techniques. It makes you want to keep practising and discovering new possibilities.

For anyone interested in EDM, electronic music or festival-style DJing, this is a particularly exciting entry point. It gives you the opportunity to understand how DJs actually work behind the decks rather than just listening to the finished result.

Of course, this is an entry-level controller, so you shouldn’t expect professional club equipment. However, considering its price, I think it offers excellent value for money.

Overall, I’m genuinely impressed. Whether you’re completely new to DJing, a music enthusiast looking for a new hobby, or someone who has always wanted to try mixing their favourite tracks, the Inpulse 200 MK3 is a fantastic place to start.
