I was surprized with Hicon plugs quality.
They are as good as Neutrick, yet inexpensive.
I used other types of Hicon connectors for three years,
no complais at all.
Great quality connector for replacing the jack on headphones that include a microphone. Keep in mind when soldering that you'll need a pretty small tip to avoid melting the plastic. Also the sleeve for the cable is pretty big, a lot of modern headphones have ridiculously thin cables. So factor that in... Otherwise, great product.
Takes a decent size cable if you discard the rubber boot and replace it with thin heatshrink, which also probably provides better strain relief. I am using a bunch of these with 6.15 mm diameter cable.
You do need a fine soldering iron tip and ideally a decent wattage iron so the connector is only heated for a couple of seconds.
I soldered the jack to my earbuds only i forgot to put the jack end on the cable before hand. So I had to desolder it the problem with that was that the plastic started to melt and 2 solder joints connected because of that.
