Great whistle
Great whistle for ethereal and cinematic music!
It sounds amazing the moment you start playing.
I love this whistle, it's my first one and I somehow managed to start playing basic melodies on my second day without any prior experience with wind instruments.
As a complete beginnner I would recommend a shorter whistle first. The stretch in the hands required to properly cover the lowest hole causes quite a lot of strain and fatigue. I am sure with deliberate practice and stretching exercises I will gain the reach required for a relaxed Pipers Grip.
Also quick tip, make sure you get a cleaning kit and watch a video about how to use it. It's not hard but it is necessary!
Finally the whistle I received from Thomann while completely playable and totally fine had clearly been sitting in a warehouse for months if not possibly years.
The engravings were completely filled with dust and grime. The back of the whistle has scratches from rubbing against a hard surface. While visually not very appealing, it has no effect on the instrument itself. But if it matters to you then make sure to inspect your whistle when it arrives.
