I use this in place of a music stand - I attach a tablet/iPod-holder to it. For that it might be a little overkill, but I still have the option to use it as a regular mic-stand, although it would be a bit on the short side.

K&M has never failed to deliver - their products are always well produced and easy to handle. One that hasn't evolved in musicstands is that they turn easily - for my use, that isn't ideal, but I can definitely live with it.
