Amazing
Bought this in October 2025 and this has become my absolute favourite bass.
I changed the bridge to high mass (Gotoh 201B-4 B) and heavy gauge 0.05-.110 strings (RS66LE Swing Bass) - the different is quite significant compared to my Sire P5 stock (although with 0.45-.105 RS66LD Swing Bass).
I intended this to be my backup choice for drop tunings (Eb) so I didn’t need to re-tune between songs.
But this bass has become my first pick. Love the feel of the neck and feedback from the heavier strings on my fingers.
Honestly, I have never played a better P bass, including the most expensive from the F-brand etc. This is not a cheaper bass for those cannot afford F-brand “Am” - this is the upgrade!
Maybe the pickups could be a bit better, but the upside would be marginal and more for sound flavour reasons. The D and G strings tend to sound a bit weaker in volume than E and A (this goes for both my P5’s) without adjusting both D and G up and D and G down. But this is an advantage with the P bass with that flexibility in setup.
