f
for korte strenge
fuskerfisker 20.01.2023

Sound good, longer lasting than Aquila
Big Ben 23.09.2017
We have three Baritone ukes in the family, a very good Tanglewood, an inexpensive Kmise with aftermarket piezo bridge installed, and a custom solid body electric baritone.
These Martin M630 strings are in our view either the best choice or the second-best on all of these instruments.
On the Tanglewood the acoustic tone of a new set of Aquila Reds is more vibrant than these strings. But a week later the rapid wear on the Aquila Red wound strings has caused the tone to deteriorate - then the winding comes off.
On the Kmise, the tonal difference is negligible and the M630s have lasted over six months of furious strumming. They still sound OK, especially using the piezo pickup, but the windings look 'used', and the tone is less bright.. Probably overdue for replacement
now.
On the custom solid baritone, the best strings are the Living Water (all unwound strings) Fluorocarbon set, which it was designed to use. Sounds like no other instrument. Amazing.
The M630 comes second in tonal quality here, but does not last as long as the Living Water set which still sounds like new after a year. No windings to wear out or clag up.
So this is an excellent set of strings that works well on a widely varying group of baritone ukuleles, Recommended especially for acoustic and semi-acoustic piezo-bridge instruments. Nice strings!

Great Baritone Ue. Strings.
mddwoody 31.03.2014
I purchased a couple of sets of these: "MARTIN GUITARS M630 NEW UKULELE STRING SET"; for my Baritone Ukulele to re-tune it to DGBE, the bottom four strings of a guitar. I have it tuned to GCEA, - standard ukulele tuning - with a set of "Martin M620 Tenor Ukulele Strings" fitted to it at the moment. I've used "M630" strings before & have always been pleased with them, finding them to be very stable once they've been broken-in & settled down. Thomann are selling these "Martin Guitars M630 New Ukulele String Set" at a very competitive price & would recommend them to anyone wishing to tune their baritone ukulele to DGBE. "Pleasant Strumming".
