This might be the best sounding synth I have heard in my 24+ years of playing synthesizers. Holy cow. From harsh wavetable stabs to very smooth analogue-sounding pads, it can do pretty much everything, and the effects section is sparse but amazing.
It does lack in some departments:
Setting up mod-sources and destinations is cumbersome. Most of the competition has figured out how to enable fast assignment by now using shift-functions, even in retrospect updates. The Summit has an incredibly classically Novation menu-divy way of approaching this.
The screen. OMG, don't even talk to me about the screen.
No kind of sequencing available. Not even a transposable arpeggiator pattern. You get the arpeggiators you get.
No polyphonic aftertouch on the keybed, only through MIDI-in. The sound and structure of the synth really lends itself to PA, and it's such a shame that it wasn't included. I'd have paid extra for that on this product in particular.
