I thought I'd try these out since a few of our stands needed something to protect the cymbals. At first their rubber felt really nice and the cymbals played great, but, pretty soon after having fitted them they had been gnawed through by the cymbals.
Not sure if this was caused by our cymbals being a bit worn or not, but we swapped them for harder plastic protection.
Got this in the mail one day ago and I'm already seeing some wear done by the cymbals. So far they are doing a good job of protecting the cymbals and allowing them to move freely so I can take advantage of the sustain but I'm afraid the cymbals are going to cut through them eventually.
My old protectors were destroyed during of playing so I needed a new one. I took this Sonor protectors because they seemed to me good, and cheaper than others.
I'm very pleased, they protect cymbal well and I like they are designed to have more rubbery structure. The old ones was made of too hard plasti, so they were exposed to destruction.
With a new ones I have no problems!
They only work on 6 mm (mostly vintage) stands. I know that the '6mm' is clearly in the title, but I thought it would be fine, but i cant use them on my stands (and most other stands!).
The quality is fine I guess. They are rubbery instead of the hard plastic sleeves I mostly use.
