It sounds truly magnificent compared to all the preamps in the various low cost mixers that I have been used to. Clean, transparent, noiseless.

Just a stunning sounding audio interface, the only drawback is that you need to pair it with another audio interface which defeats the purpose somewhat but the quality of the sound makes up for this

Finally found...

Before trying this gear I thought that the golden rulett "track with Neve and mix with SSL" is fully truth. Now... I would say, that due to the two different harmonic distortion modes this practice should be changed. Track with SSL, and mix with SSL is at least as good by using this preamp. Pristine sound quality, massive built, versatility - all in one. I'm using it with ssl12 via the ADAT connection. The Quad preamp sounds way better than the ssl12, real console quality. The rest (dynamics, EQ, etc) you can add it in the DAW. The result is... brutally good. Highly recommended versatile stuff for relatively cheap. This is something what you can not get via preamp emulations regardless the the manufacturer of the plugin. It's simply hot.
