TAD 6.3mm Jack Adapter, Fem-Fem

This adapter is great for extending or connecting to a speaker cable. It's really solidly built so it can withstand real-life gig situations, such as being chucked into a bag full of other cables and parts, being stomped on by accident, being taped down repeatedly with duct tape. It has a tight grip so that any inadvertent yanking will not disconnect the cables by accident.

Sturdy quality. Works with speaker level signals - most adapters don’t specify this.

I use this as a speaker cable expander. On paper, the locking mechanism is a good safeguard, but the built quality is a bit lacking. The red clips are a bit hard to use and there is not a definitive lock feel. Once in place and in locked position, the speaker cables can move by a few milimeters in and out of the socket. This looks scary but the lock restricts further movement and the connection is not compromised at all.

I use it to extend the short speaker lead (pigtail) in my Marshall DSL40CR combo, allowing me to connect a power attenuator using an external speaker cable. It isn’t the smallest jack-to-jack adapter available, but the trade-off is that it’s extremely robust, fits securely, and does its job reliably without introducing any noise. Highly recommended.
