Hand knob made from maple
Cup ring with 250 mm outer diameter
Consistent 8.5 mm wall thickness
Wide scale and therefore full, extremely warm and sonorous tone
Oil finished on the inside
Wound with wicker and then finished with five layers of matt varnish
Tuned to 442 Hz orchestra tuning (thereby best adaptation to other alphorns or other instruments when playing together)
2 cm ‘extend’ for tuning to 440 Hz
Very stable intonation and consistent sound - ‘the tones lock in very well’
Extremely easy response
Gold anodised aluminium connectors
