Het is een prima snaar voor de beginner en de wat meer gevorderde speler, spreekt gemakkelijke aan geeft een warme toon en de snaren zijn goed gelijk aan elkaar en evenwichtig qua klank. De snaren voelen ook prettig onder de vingers van de linkerhand het speelt soepel en je hebt niet het gevoel dat het in je vingertopjes snijdt.

Eerst had ik het idee dat het volume van de snaar wat tegenviel, maar al snel kwam ik er achter dat ik wat dichter bij de kam wel een grote toon kon ontlokken aan mijn instrument met deze snaren.

De snaren zijn eerder warm dan briljant te noemen, en zullen het vooral ook doen op een instrument wat aan de heldere kant is, ook de A snaar is niet schel, dus dat standaard probleem van de a-snaar die er uitspringt qua klank is hiermee waarschijnlijk opgelost. De wolf in mijn cello huilde ook een stuk minder dan toen er nog Kaplan snaren op zaten.

De snaren blijven trouwens meteen erg goed op stemming. Nauwelijks gezakt sinds ik ze erop heb gezet.

In vergelijking met budget snaren als Crown en Prelude vind ik deze er beter uitspringen, goed te vergelijken met middenklasse snaren zoals Jargar. Ik ga ze zeker aanraden aan mijn leerlingen.

Enige minpuntje is dat de snaar in een soort donker vet is gezet, wat afgeeft, maar er met een keukenpapiertje goed afgaat. Vandaar de vier sterren voor afwerking.

Duidelijke aanrader dus Alphayue cellosnaren, die de vergelijking met snaren die twee keer zo duur met glans kunnen doorstaan
