Great brass nut for your 5 string Warwick

I have spent a number of Euros on this brass nut from Warwick and being a bit pricy it is quite good for a better sound on the bass and all in all it was a sound investment for my Streamer 5. The nut is easy to fit onto the bass (tip: see a "how to.." Youtube video).

I like the individual setting up the string height with this nut system and the brass version really feels solid and great.

Beautiful replacement!

My 5 string Warvick had Just A Nut I which are made of plastic and tend to be easily broken. It had "ears" that held the actual nut in position sideways. Over time they become brittle and break easily.

I ordered this one for replacement. No regrets there. It is made of two solid pieces of precision machined brass and looks great with gold colored hardware!

The installation was easy. There are great instructions on Warvick's website:

thing to note though! I noticed that it is a slightly taller nutpiece compared to Just A Nut I. This isn't necessarily a problem with fretted basses. I have a fretless so the strings can be a little lower in the nut. I had the nut all the way down but I still needed to file the string slots a little to get the same action as I had with the previous nut, but it took less than 15 minutes to get them all just perfect!

The Best Warwick Upgrade

If your Warwick has a plastic nut and you only ever do 1 upgrade to your Bass, then upgrading to the brass nut is the one you should do.
No more broken plastic nuts !

Upgrade on sustain

I upgraded my old warwick thumb 5 string bass after like 25 years graphite nut screw treads worn out and i must say it looks amazing and i feel like the sustain of bass improved, highly recomended upgrade
