No compatible receiver apart from the THR amps
Panagis 20.07.2026
I should have given it more thought before buying it. I bought it along with the Yamaha THR30II wireless amp in order to use it wirelessly. I didn't do much research, which is my fault.
When I first used it directly to the THR, everything was perfect. I don't want it for gigs or anything serious. Just some practice or noodling wirelessly on the couch.
However, after some days I thought about using my nux dual stereo looper with the THR.
Surprise surprise. The wireless freedom I used to enjoy went away.
With a universal wireless system (Fender Telepath for example), i would be able to plug the transmitter in my guitar, the receiver in the looper input, and a short cable to connect the looper to the THR amp. No big deal. Just another thing sitting on the coffee table next to the THR. I would still use my guitar wirelessly.
But with this transmitter, all I can do is connect my guitar to the looper using a cable (bye bye wireless) and then plug the transmitter in the looper output so it can communicate with the amp. Which is something I don't care about, cause it's my guitar that I want to be wireless.
At first I was like, ok i just need to buy a compatible receiver and problem will be fixed.
And to my surprise there is none (or at least there is none sold by Thomann).
IMHO, for the price of the THR30II plus the fact that this transmitter is made specifically to be used with this amp, it should be included with the THR30II.
Sold separately and for 120 euros, I believe is too much.
Does it work ok when used directly with the THR? Yes. I've had no issues with connectivity.
Would another wireless system work the same? I don't know. But I will find out because I am definitely returning this and buying a complete wireless system with a transmitter AND a receiver.

Very useful indeed, transmits sound wirelessly, no guitar lead required.
