i started to play guitar in december, so i'm a true beginner. I bought a Boss Katana 100 Gen 3, which is great. The thing is that i practice in the attic which is an open space and there is only 1 door to separate the bedroom from where i play. you guess it... much complains from my partner about me playing late (yeah, i work during daytime), while my partner tends to go to sleep early (really too early for me!). Apparently, even when using an headphone on the Boss Katana 100, she can simply hear the strings of my guitar which annoys her. i had three solutions,
1 - sale again my amp and guitar and forget about learning guitar (no way!!)
2 - replace my partner by one playing in a band and being full of understanding :oD
3 - Play in my livingroom where my partner doesn't hear the strings of my guitar.
i opted for solution 3, but i didn't want to invade the livingroom with my amp and cables, so i gave a try to the Katana Go and it's just awesome! really simple solution, doesn't take space, and the sound is great (to me as good as what i know from the Boss Katana 100) !
And since i was familiar with the Boss Tone Studio on my computer in the attic, it's just all the same on the Ipad. Same effects.
And using the "Stage Feel" option combined with a backing track just feels very immersive and makes you play more.
All by all, a great mini portable amp, and the thing is that i do practice more often now because not disturbing my partner trying to sleep. i must say it was a reason why i barely touched my guitar the past 4 months. not that i didn't want it, but i didn't want to end up single ;o)
now, instead of playing only during weekends at day time, i can practice more regularly at evening through the week.
Very easy to use but i understand what people says about the instructions in the manual. To be honnest i didn't open the manual at all but before receiving the Katana Go, i had happily seen a video on youtube that explains how to pair it.
For the rest, i don't know yet how will be the battery life. We'll see!
i also don't know yet the other possibilities like if that's possible to record yourself directly without having an audio interface. i may hope it's possible through a direct USB C connection! Got to find it out too.
Don't hesitate and just try it!
