You don't need to buy 'Made in the USA' anymore
shallot 05.06.2025
There are 181 miles (291 kms) between the Corona and Ensenada factories, but a difference of almost €1100 if I compare the Mexican 'standard' to the Am Pro II (or the Vintera to the Vintage).
This is more than double the price between a Mexican and USA made strat, but to be honest, the differences are almost negligible. Now that the Player series is coming with Rosewood fretboards, and the pickups sound fantastic, the only difference is that with the USA counterparts, you get a case. Now I know that some snobs will try and tell me that the pickups are not to their liking and they miss the 'smell' of the guitar etc, but these are the same people who swap the pickups out on custom guitars and still complain about 'tone', whatever that means.
This guitar is a perfect tele, it 'twangs', it feels great, plays great, and dare I say it, looks great (It does actually look like a tele after all)
My advice, pick one of these up, get yourself a beautiful tweed case, and you have a guitar for life... And if you do decide to swap the pickups out, no matter how much you pay for a new set, you're still paying less overall! Just go for it!
