The most important quality for memory locks is that they don't move once you've set them. Having had these on my rack for the last few months I can tell you that they stay put. My rack gets disassembled and rebuilt maybe 4 times every couple of weeks (8 separate disassemblies/reassemblies). These memory locks have been an essential addition to the rack, they take the guesswork out of setting up allowing you to save a lot of time. Now, I know 100% that my setup at home and on the stage is identical. I can't remember how I got by without them. Oh yeah I do: terribly!
What is there to say, they're Memory Locks!
Having said that, My application is a little different to most. I'm using them in combination with some small S Hooks to hang my Gongs from a home made 'Gibraltar style' tubular gong rack, and they work brilliantly.
I use these memory locks on a round pipe Dixon rack and with my edrums for extra stability for the pads, cymbal arms, tom arms...
They are simple and effective, keeping the clamps in place as and for giving a reference where to attach them when the rack needs to be disassembled.
