I've owned a few of these cables over the years and I must say, they're brilliant. I've never had an issue with them, they always work and deliver good sound quality.
I've seen a few cables that have a silent jack on them, but these are mainly Neutrik or G&H that are just for plugging in. These have a really clever design that I think is genius, it gave you an automatic mute switch which means you can tune the guitar woulth out having to to change any contol settings on the guitar and also means you have tune sliently if your acoustic has an after market pickup and no controls.
The second really practical feature is the solderless connection from cable to jack. This design is to fix a break in the cable quickly and easily, just remove the jack, cut off the cable at a break point and re-attach, no soldering, no fuss, I have to say though in almost 2 years of use, I've never had to fix anything on the cable.
Another really handy feature is the Plant Waves cable tie. I've used a few different cables ties, a lot of them made of velcro, the problem with these is velcro wears out over time, plus they aren't atached the the cable thoroughly, the Planet waves one, clib to the cable and will not come of without a lot of force and the elastic and hook system is a lot more flexible, as it caters to a wider range of cable lengths.
Lastly, all the packaging is Recyclable, 10/10 for Planet Waves.
