Intelligent, content-aware gate with automatic recognition of a selected signal source such as vocals, keys, kick, etc.

Smarter than most

As I am mostly working on material which is recorded live, bleed and background noise is often an issue. This is a challenge for traditional gates that react only to level.

The Smart Gate's ability to recognise specific instruments and separate them from the unwanted background sounds i surprisingly good.

Not perfect however. And relying on some kind of machine learning it is dependent on learned profiles. For that reason I hope Sonible will release versions with more learnt profiles. At present it seams that very transient rich stuff, like drums, is handled the best whereas instruments with larger variations and nuances is harder to process cleanly.
But overall anothter great product from Sonible.
