Since the most racks made by famous manufacturers weren't affordable to me i was searching for a 19" rack where i can place my digital stagebox (Behringer S16) and some other 19" equipment to be prepared for the next gig.
First thing i noticed when the rack arrived was that it was a bit unsteady when i pushed from the side. But this "problem" disappeared ever since i screw some devices into it.
I really wondered how good the quality is (if you keep in mind that you just spend about 100 ?, which isn't even the amount you have to spend into material if you build such a rack by yourself). The caps fit really well and the rivets are processed well, too.
A pity that they took these cheap straps, there are other cases which have straps you can open by turning them, this would have been more comfortable but i'm fine with the others ;-)
To summarize you get a really high-quality product for a third of the price you normally spend. My recommendation for bands who want their stuff to be tidied up and save.
Nice solid budget rack. It's lightweight and seems solidly built. The clips that hold the covers on are simple but effective. I get the feeling they'll last longer than the thin ones on my old gator mixer case. Good solid handles too.
I was worried about it looking a bit too brown on stage but it is a dark brown so not quite as brown looking as it is in the pics.
My only complaint is that there are now rack rails on the back so you can't fix rack mounted power sockets on the back. In fairness i should have looked more closely on the pics. I've fixed a bit of plywood underneath and fixed on some wheels and there you have it - a 12U rolling rack for around £80! Bargain!
After couple of months of usage here are good things and bad things. Rack is properly built, materials are good but "on budget", ply is thin though. What is good is that it doesn't affects usage too much. Some dents from transportation starts to appear, as the plywood seems to be quite soft. Anyway it's a minor issue. Rack is easy to handle, upgrade and looks like there's many years of use ahead.
