PROS
-Sound of this thing is FANTASTIC.
-The true bypass makes the pedal totally invisible to your overall tone when it's switched of.
-Allows you to change between 6 different wah sounds, some of them very clean and clear, some others a bit more dirty, with a bit of added overdrive and kind of a fuzz. Great variety.
-When used with distortion, and positioned in the last place of your effects chain, you can get still a very loud and defined added wah sound.
-If used with distortion, and positioned in the first place of your effects chain, you get a bit of vintage fuzz effect which sometimes is great.
CONS
-It is not self power supplied, like many other carl martin effects.
-When you step on top of the pedal for the first time you notice it's a bit loose and the mechanics for the tour and the switches could be a bit better.
-It makes a terrible pop sound when you change between the 6 different default wah sounds.
CONCLUSION
The pedal is ok for the money it costs, the true bypass is just perfect, the sound is good but in the mechanical chapter it could be improved. There might be pedals out there that have it everything, but I guess you'd have to go over in price. The reason I went for this one was the sound, which is totally what I was looking for, but I guess you could get both the sound and the mechanical perfection if you compare a few pedals around and you are willing to pay well over the 150eur approx that this one costs.
